Dutchflats Goldens

We started breeding Golden Retrievers in 2006. We always strived for exceptional temperament and health.

We took time off from breeding to raise our family. We have 4 children with very active busy lives that we needed to be involved in and didn't have the precious time to raise puppies the way they need, so we took a break.

I also was a veterinary technician years ago and currently a Registered nurse looking to retire in about 3-4 years.

Well now my children are grown and in college or graduated from college and I am now interested in having my hobby back and working with these beautiful Goldens. I am only interested in breeding the most exceptional Golden Retrievers. Health and Temperaments are most important to me. I will always strive to have only the most exceptional Goldens in my program. Third on my list is beauty.... we all love a beautiful Golden and I will strive to have the dogs with the nicest coats, big blocky heads and correct conformations.

I have been searching long and hard for the perfect Golden. I have talked with some amazing breeders who have great dogs.

While I was previously breeding, I have had 3 American Golden Retrievers. 2 out of 3 of my goldens ended up with some form of cancer. one of my goldens was extremely high strung and i was in search of a healthier version of what I have always loved.

After much research, I have found that the European goldens have a lower percentage of cancer rates, and temperaments are much more laid back. I have also fallen in love with the very light Cream-colored Goldens that are popular in Europe, So I decided to go right to the source and take a chance and purchase a puppy from Navilis Goldens in Austria, and boy am I glad that I did. This puppy is so laid back and chill as compared to any puppy I have ever had. The sweetest temperament possible. Everyone that has come near him falls in love.

For me the English Golden is now my personal preference. People that say they are more valuable and rarer are not being honest. This is still a Golden Retriever like every other Golden Retriever. There are body type differences between the American vs the European golden. European seem to have a stockier body and big blocky heads (which again is my personal preference).

I will always strive to purchase the best breeders and have all testing done on all my dogs with results posted before breeding any animal. My dogs live in our home and are part of our lives.
